anemia

I have HCM and was told by my doctor that my 18 daughter should be checked out. She had an echo and ECG in December and I was told she is fine. However, she has been diagnosed as anemic by our GP and seems to be getting worse in spite of her iron supplements. Added to her fatigue she is experiencing the occasional heart palpitation and dizziness. My fear is that this could be related to HCM. She is leaving for university in September and I hate the thought of anything happening to her when she is far away from any doctor who knows about HCM. We are in Toronto and see a cardiologist at Toronto General.

Does anyone know if there is a connection between HCM and anemia?

Laura all i can say is i went for over 20 years thinking i was anemic and would get tested and i would be fine and then almost 3 year ago i was diagnosed with HCM
